“8Finally, all of you, be like-minded, be sympathetic, love one another, be compassionate and humble.”
– 1 Peter 3:8
Being good is the same as being a Christ-like person. God created us to do well. He created us to serve Him only. Being humble is the first thing we have to do in order to do well. If we keep the pride within ourselves, then it will be easy for us to carry out goodness and kindness.
“9 Do not repay evil with evil or insult with insult. On the contrary, repay evil with blessing, because to this you were called so that you may inherit a blessing. 10 For, ‘Whoever would love life and see good days must keep their tongue from evil and their lips from deceitful speech.”
– 1 Peter 3: 9-10
Revenge is never good. Hindi kailanman naging solusyon ang paghihiganti para sa mga naranasan nating problema. We must be humble. Revenge is a sign of being proud. It is written that we must not repay evil with evil or insult with insult, but instead, repay them with a blessing. If you are humble enough, then be a blessing to everyone. Let us repay the bad things with good things. Kasi if we repay them with bad things… ano pa ang pinagkaiba natin sa kanila? edi pareho tayong gumawa ng masama. We must not think of our own dignity being crashed by them, but think of the name of our Lord being crashed by them… for we are carrying His name. It is not about us, but it is the One who’s inside us. When we are known to be a child of God, we must not ignore that. We must let other people see what’s inside us. We must be a reflection of God’s light. So we must be careful of our deeds because one thing is for sure… if anyone see just a little mistake of us, then they will questioned our God, the one who’s with us all the time. We must be strong in doing good so no one can seize us.

“11 They must turn from evil and do good; they must seek peace and pursue it. 12 For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous and his ears are attentive to their prayer, but the face of the Lord is against those who do evil.”
– 1 Peter 3: 11-12
If we want to live a joyous life, then we must avoid saying bad things or even doing it. We must turn our back to evil matters and look forward to heavenly matters. We must seek peace always and pursue it. For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous and His ears are attentive to their prayers. We must do good to please the Lord our God, not to please the people around us. Dahil kung ganun, we still belong to the world… for the fact that we receive Christ Jesus into our life, we belong to Him only. So we must stop serving the people more than serving our God.

“13 Who is going to harm you if you are eager to do good? 14 But even if you should suffer for what is right, you are blessed. “Do not fear their threats; do not be frightened.’ 15 But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect, 16 keeping a clear conscience, so that those who speak maliciously against your good behavior in Christ may be ashamed of their slander. 17 For it is better, if it is God’s will, to suffer for doing good than for doing evil.”
– 1 Peter 3: 13-17
Doing well may make us suffer, but even if we suffer for what is right, then we are more blessed. We must not be frightened. But now that I know what is right, I am now trying my best to change for the better with the guidance of the Lord.
Mas okay pa yung nahihirapan sa paggawa ng mabuti kaysa sa nadadalian sa paggawa ng masama. We must seek in our hearts Christ as our Lord and Savior. If we are good, people will be inspired by our deeds. They will be influenced by the goodness we have shared and they will see the reflection of the light of God upon our lives. And for those who speak against us, they will be ashamed of themselves because of the truth within us.
“18 For Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God. He was put to death in the body but made alive in the Spirit. 19 After being made alive, he went and made proclamation to the imprisoned spirits— 20 to those who were disobedient long ago when God waited patiently in the days of Noah while the ark was being built. In it only a few people, eight in all, were saved through water, 21 and this water symbolizes baptism that now saves you also—not the removal of dirt from the body but the pledge of a clear conscience toward God. It saves you by the resurrection of Jesus Christ, 22 who has gone into heaven and is at God’s right hand—with angels, authorities and powers in submission to him.”
– 1 Peter 3: 18-22
As long as God is with us, no one can harm us. Keep in our heart, mind and soul that we are created to do good and to humble ourselves every seconds of our life. For Christ died for our sins and for the unrighteous to bring us to God, the Father in Heaven.
