Feelings are Deceitful*

Life is no fun when we let our feelings run the show.  Feelings change from day to day, hour to hour, even moment to moment.  They often lie to us.  In short, we cannot trust our feelings.  But we can choose, as Christ followers, to ignore false emotions and live by truth and wisdom.

Let me give you some examples.  Perhaps you have found yourself in a crowd of people and felt as though everyone was talking about you.  That doesn’t mean they were.  Maybe you feel that nobody understands you, but that doesn’t mean they don’t.  You may feel misunderstood, unappreciated or even mistreated, but that doesn’t mean you are.  These are only feelings.  We need to be mature, disciplined, Holy Spirit-controlled people, determined to walk in the Spirit.  It takes a constant act of the will to choose to do things God’s way rather than our way.  Even though we may feel occasionally bombarded by negative emotions, we cannot allow those feelings to control and spoil life.  Instead, we can choose to follow the truth-godly wisdom, knowledge and understanding.

Pray: God, my feelings often go against Your wisdom and try to deceive me, but I won’t let them run my life.  Guide me with Your truth so that I can stay connected to You, and not be run by my constantly changing emotions.

Imperfect Me is Loved

At the end of each day, I’m so blessed that in whatever things I have done I’m still loved.  He never fails to catch me whenever I’m falling.  Even if I rarely drop by to Him, He is always present in my life.  And though there are times that I have ignored His calling, He still listen to me at any time I call.  He is AMAZING for an unworthy me…

Who Am I by Casting Crowns

Who am I, that the Lord of all the earth
Would care to know my name
Would care to feel my hurt?
Who am I, that the bright and morning star
Would choose to light the way
For my ever wondering heart?

Not because of who I am
But because of what You’ve done
Not because of what I’ve done
But because of who You are

I am a flower quickly fading
Here today and gone tomorrow
A wave tossed in the ocean
A vapor in the wind
Still You hear me when I’m calling
Lord You catch me when I’m falling
And You told me who I am
I am Yours, I am Yours

Who am I, that the eyes that see our sin
Would look on me with love
And watch me rise again?
Who am I, that the voice that calmed the sea
Would call out through the rain
And calm the storm in me?

Not because of who I am
But because what of You’ve done
Not because of what I’ve done
But because of who You are

I am a flower quickly fading
Here today and gone tomorrow
A wave tossed in the ocean
A vapor in the wind
Still You hear me when I’m calling
Lord You catch me when I’m falling
And You told me who I am
I am Yours

Not because of who I am
But because of what You’ve done
Not because of what I’ve done
But because of who You are

I am a flower quickly fading
Here today and gone tomorrow
A wave tossed in the ocean
A vapor in the wind
Still You hear me when I’m calling
Lord You catch me when I’m falling
You told me who I am
I am Yours, I am Yours, I am Yours

Whom shall I fear?
Whom shall I fear?
‘Cause I am Yours, I am Yours

Things to ponder:

…Are you constantly fading away, even if He colors you every time?

…Are you still a mess up, even if He fixes you always?

…Have you realized your true identity in His presence?

Have you ever come and listen to His calling?

Drinking Curiosity

Wednesday evening is far from party nights – more peaceful and refreshing.  A nice time to drink on a bar with live band singing unfamiliar songs.  This helped me unwind.

A bottle of Tanduay Ice is revitalizing.  I stopped drinking alcohol for almost three years now.  And just to try this trending drink, I, together with my sister and aunt, agreed to have just one bottle for this one night.  It was cool and I hope it will be the last – just to feed my curiosity, no peer pressure, MY CHOICE.

Unconditional Love

Unconditional love… the love that we all desire.   We thought this is positive.  But here’s the twist of loving unconditionally:

Sometimes we have to give up wonderful things just to make everything alright.

Sometimes we have to bleed alone for somebody to smile, we need our tears to flow just to save the tears of the other.

And there are times that we need to give up our own happiness just to conceal someone else’ burden.

…that’s what we call LOVE.  It’s very unconditional.
